About Us
We are…
… a group of people from different backgrounds who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God, Saviour of the World, the Head of the Church, the King of Israel, and the Heir of all things. In His humanity we believe He is entirely like us (sin apart), while in His deity fully God and equal with the Father. There is none like Him. He alone is Lord of all. Although diverse in age, nationality, occupation and ability, we are by God’s grace united with Christ and each other. Through His death we received by faith pardon for sin and peace with God, and by His resurrection and ascension power to live and a living hope.
“He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the pre-eminence.” (Colossians 1 vs 18)
We believe…
… the Bible to be the divinely inspired word of God, entirely without error as originally given, and completely sufficient for all matters of life, faith and practice. While we believe that as the Bible is read or heard God speaks we also believe the activity of God’s Holy Spirit is essential for an individual to correctly interpret, understand, and apply God’s Word.
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3 vs 16,17)
We worship…
… in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and are accountable to Him alone as Head of the Church. While we affirm the importance of every church and assembly’s independence from all others, we also welcome and enjoy fellowship with all like-minded believers who know and love the Lord Jesus Christ as Redeemer, Saviour and Friend, and who seek to walk in His will in the fear of the Lord.
“Receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God.” (Rom 15 vs 7)
We maintain…
… ways and practices associated with the open christian brethren tradition believing these most accurately reflect the pattern God intends for local church governance and worship. At the same time we seek to depend on the on-going work of God’s Holy Spirit to illuminate Scripture and reform and conform us more closely to His will.
“Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in His ways.” (Psalm 128 vs 1)
